Lotus Temple is located in New Delhi itself. Lotus Temple is also known as Baha’i House of Worship was completed in 13 November, 1986 and was opened in 24 December, 1986. Its height is approximately is 34.27 m and diameter is about 70 m.The architect of this famous temple was Fariborz Sahba and the structural engineers were Flint and Neill. The Lotus temple is opened to all religions as the temple follows the rules of Baha’i. The Baha’i rule states that the spirit of the house of worship be like a place of gathering of all the people without any religious restrictions that is why, the Lotus Temple is one of the famous temples as it is open even for Hindus, a Muslims, a Sikhs, Christians, Buddhist,a jain. As the shape of the temple is like that of a flower, hence it is placed as the Mother Temple of India. The Lotus Temple has been stated as the most visited building in the world by CNN and is the most visited religious building in the world by Guinness World Records, 2001.
